Researching the land grant act, multiple sources stwte the program had a focus on agriculture, science, engineering and military science. I feel like some schools (VT, Tamu and Clemson) held onto the military heritage where others may have not.

I'm usually not too much of a fan for chrome helmets but that's freaking awesome. The uniforms are clean and slick also. Also didn't know they were a military school once upon a time also. 2 thumbs up for me.

So, LSU is doing military appreciation, while Clemson is doing breast cancer?
Why not do military appreciation this week, then breast cancer next week. Breat cancer awareness is month long, while military appreciation is a week...or weekend (not sure).
Just curious.

Calm down. I never stated that Clemson doesn't honor the military. I was merely curious about why they chose this week for BC awareness, because LSU was doing military appreciation. I thought all schools did military appreciation on the same weekend. That's all! Don't read things into a post that is not there.

Also, I barely EVER post on here, but I was curious about the 2 schools doing something different. And per my last post, I questioned what CU was doing because I thought military appreciation was this weekend.

I also watch every game at home. Not everyone has money for football tickets. I would love to attemd a game, if I could.
Being a woman, I am very appreciative of Clemson doing BC awareness.

If you watch every game, you would know that we (WE) have military appreciation day the next to last game of th e season. We wear all purple. Do you even catch the tie in to the purple heart?

The state of Louisiana’s history of supporting the war efforts of WWI and WWII are extensive. Probably the best WWII museum I have ever gone to is in New Orleans.
When my dad returned from WWII his shipped was decommissioned in Louisiana. He and a couple of his ship mates went to Antione’s in the French Quarter for their first meal stateside. When they finished their meal the waiter told them that a couple in the restaurant, who were regulars, picked up their tab for the table.
Glad to see LSU paying tribute to the vets.
